That's fabulous a Gulia TZ(1) a very rare and much wanted race Alfa. Can you tell something about the history of this car?

The history is nice but I hop that you know more races and rallys by name and date where this TZ participated. Did you restore the TZ in those 20 years and are you going to use it in rallys are are you planning to sell (I do not have the funds). Will you show and run the car in the upcomming Alfa event in Assen (Spettacolo Sportivo) where likely more old Guilia types will be present like the old SZ.

Are the races that where in the history not already enough, the other not mentioned by name are lesser events and hillclimbs.
We had at one time 4 TZ1 #042 #094 #096 and #006, in 1993 I sold of most of our cars, including #096 together with #006 and a Porsche 934 to a japanese buyer who took delivery of #096 and the Porsche , he made a down payment on #006 and #006 went to Piet Roelofs to be restored , then the japanese buyer backed out and we had #006 dismantled with Roelofs, before we decided what to do with the car may years where past.
Now the car is nearly finished with Piet Roelofs and hopefully I can go with the car to The Goodwood Revival.I am not planning to go to Assen.
The car is not for sale and will not come on the market.

I am very excited to hear one of these fabulous cars will be restored again! These cars have great pedigrees with much competition-history. I love it! Like previous members mentioned... More pictures are welcome!

O yes, of course is the listing of races long and impressive enough and again it is a privilage to own and drive a historical Alfa like this TZ. I can understand that you prefer Goodwood but that means very unfortunately that I (and most other down to earth Alfisti) will likely not be in a position to see, hear and smell the car.

Sorry, but I have some bad memories with Dutch events, to many people discussing the cars without having any clue about these kind of cars, when I took the car to Auto Moto Italia 2 years ago, somebody was standing at our and telling that this was a replica and he knew of a real one. Because our car looked to good. Some alloy has been replaced becuase of the hard life the car has had , which TZ1 has been raced from New until 25 years on and we wanted the car like it was at leMans 1964.
And 2 years ago they asked me if I wanted to show the TZ at Paleis het Loo , I mailed them pictures of the car in status of restoration and they accepted it and very pleased that I would show the car again when ready, and when I came there Saturday morning early they asked me what the idea of that car was So I loaded the car up again, and that is why you most likely will not see the car anymore in the Netherlands.
Ifso only at my friend Martin de Vries AUTO-MOTO -ITALIA.

So you know the story .

Hereby is a picture taken of the car with the old nose at Maurice Labro's who did the bodywork.

Sorry to hear about the event stories. Nice picture, great car, and some beautiful bodyparts hanging on the wall.

Sorry to hear that Toto, but that sounds familiar indeed. Please remember there are still some real enthusiasts around, even in Holland, who still appreciate what you are doing.

Martin is a very nice person and I am sure you will be able to enjoy your car with him. Next time you see him please say hello to him from this blond guy from Assen. He'll remember me from the time René Palland was his neighbour.

A shame about that event Toto. Anyway in any public event you can sometimes hear some negative comments, sometimes partly instigated by jealous feelings... all part of the game... wouldn't expect it from the organization though
Keep up the good job !!

I will not type an other cliché here but guess such can happen in any country with car events for the mass but you will keep the car in the Netherlands I assume.

I saw a TZ 1 or a TZ 2 (I'm not sure wich one it is, and if its original) at the Oldtimer Grand Prix last weekend on the Nurburring.
It was standing in the paddock and no one was looking at it.
Only this fool

Last Sunday during an charity-rally for The "Toon Hermans Huis" in Amersfoort , Netherlands. An old Alfa racer... Can you imagine the sound of this car in the narrow streets of this town? Pffff, still dreaming of those "good old days"...
