I'm a big fan of panning shots. I like mine with the car as sharp as possible and the wheels turning. Here are some I took at Hockenheim last year.

Default My first panningshots...

Today i have tried out my new camera for the first time! I went to the highway and took some shots of the cars passing by... I have tried out some different settings on the camera and looked what it did to the pictures. I have still a lot to learn but it sure tasted for more!

( And why are there 2 Porsches driving by and no Ferrari... )

I've bought a Canon EOS 1000 D. I wanted a better camera for some time now. Our visit to the Mille and Goodwood revival this year has made the choice to buy it. Because i have never taken photo's with this kind of camera i went to the highway, just to try it...

A question:

When you making a panning where do you place the car in the shot. To the left, middle of to the right. Of is there no rule whit panning shots.

I try to have the car in the in the middle of the frame, the focus point from camera has the best sensitivity there.

The reason that I asked this. Is that there are some people on the forum of eos digitale that is against all rules to make a panning shot in the middle. I'm glad you'are think the same.

I tend to break rules sometime. Some people moarn about the rule of thirds, straight horizons etc etc. To me, there are no rules for a good picture. Especially for panning!

I like when the photos are tilted a bit. And I try to get the whole car as sharp as possible.
And this time, it was rainting... that made it a bit more interresting
Awesome shots you're showing!

Fantastic shots Tina. The speed in this pictures because of the rotating wheels ... awesome! What shutter speed did you use here?
