Hello Ferrari friends! Here's my first post.
I found out about this site when reading the flyer I got at Fiorano from nofear02 (I think). The event was fantastic and I enjoyed all your excellent photos. Ciao tutti, Alain, Hi Denis and Alain! A very warm welcome to you from all of us I guess! Real fans, so far away from me, but close and united in our passion! Yes I probably gave you a flyer Alain. And probably Denis also. So it worked! That makes me happy :).

@ Alain: You have a beautiful website. Please put a link in the thread links, os everyone can see it. I wish you lots of fun on this Forum. Ps; I once was in Barcelona during a F1 race. I thought it was 2002. I enjoyed it very much!

@ Denis; are you going to the FRD at Paul Ricard or is that far away from you? You have a fine Ferrari!

I am astonished that so many members have authographs from those important people! I didn't know these persons were that 'approachable' and kind to give them. From Arnoux I already read here somewhere that he takes time for his fans. And Jacky Ickx always seem to be everywhere :). Luca di M, : I think that is very special to have his signature. Don't forget; with that signature his signs important contracts and guides the whole company! wow.
But yes, for me, there is only one very important signature, and that's is from Schumacher, as he is such an exceptional champion.
That's why I got one signature on a box, with one of his cars he drove.. :)

pic 1; I go with JWA. I doubt it's an 500F2, The exhaust is on the wrong side of the body. It does look much like a 2.5 litre 4-cylinder Ferrari (short chassis), but the engine doesn't look like a Ferrari engine. Both the side-mirrors and the headlights where also mounted on later. They didn't have them in those days :D ...

I think now, that the car #1 pic 1, can be a 625 F1.

After two years of F2 regulations the 1954 world championship was raced under F1 regulations again. The new regulations allowed for 2.5 litre naturally aspirated and 750 cc supercharged engined racers. Ferrari modified their 1952 and 1953 world championship winning 500 F2 by boring and stroking the four cylinder engine. Enter the Ferrari 625 F1.

Maserati campaigned their six cylinder 250F from the beginning of the season. Halfway through the season Ferrari and Maserati were joined by the straight-eight cylinder engined Mercedes Benz W196 and the Vittorio Jano designed Lancia D50 V8. Ferrari's three competitor's were all newer and of a more advanced design.

Juan Manuel Fangio started the season at Maserati but halfway the season he teamed up with Stirling Moss at Mercedes Benz. Ferrari's two primary drivers were Froilan Gonzalez and Mike Hawthorn. Both drivers won a Grand Prix each, but they were not able to keep with Fangio. In the driver's championship the first three places behind Fangio were filled by Ferrari drivers.

For the 1955 season the four cylinder car was further modified but it was no longer competitive.

Although I still have doubts about the engine and also still believe that the mirrors and headlights are mounted on later

JWA

Sorry, it no 625 F1 either.
That car also had the four cylinder engine with the exhaust on the left side.

JWA

With these engine pictures you see a big engine that is as far back as possible.
The unknow one has a smaller engine that is much more forward.
Is it a replica

ForzaFerrari
26-07-2007, 23:04
on the list of the Cavallino Classics the only car that comes close to the one in the picture is the 625. But then again, when you look at the engine, it doesn't look like a Ferrari engine, the exhaust is on the wrong side and the mounted headlights and mirrors aren't right.
If it is a replica it won't be on the list, probably. So what shall we do? Go for the replica? ;) Perhaps the body is from a Ferrari 500/625 ... who knows what happened to the cars in the last 50 years :) ... rebuilts were often made in the those years already, etc.
I even heard stories about a 250 Testa Rossa mounted with a American V8 for durt-races :o can you believe that?

As a have read in Classic-Car magazine it seems that the Enzo production numbers are way beyond the 399 examples which Ferrari has declared to actually produce...
That makes me think about all the other "limited production" numbers.
Maybe we have to take these factory statements not too serious?

Why would you do something like this?!?

There are some diffences.
- The replica is slightly higher at the back where the glass window starts.
- The back window is to flat, the original is more curved.
- The back window is also more squared instead of rounded at the top.
- It's sounds awefull (for a ferrari)

Everybody here shares the passion for Ferrari. Ferrari is Passion, but Ferrari is also a car brand. A car brand with history.
During the last F-Chat meeting, Walter (DCPixels) and I got an idea for an amusing new thread.

We compared some style elements that can be found these days on the present Ferrari's. There are small style elements that shows the History of Ferrari. For instance; the rearlights on the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano we saw before on the Ferrari 275 GTB from 1964.

Perhaps it's fun to compare some other present Ferrari's with Ferrari's from the past.....

On the next models you can find some of those style elements they used earlier on other types. Try to name those elements and place some pictures with detail discribtions.

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano from 2006 and the Ferrari 550 Maranello from 1996..

the news on the New FXX

[quote]Maranello 28th October 2007 - The innovative FXX programme, based on the eponymous prototype car and launched by Ferrari in June 2005, is being extended to 2008/2009. The FXX, which is the most advanced GT ever created at Maranello, has been updated with an evolution package aimed at further improving its handling and performance. The package was developed as a result of Ferrari's collaboration with its Client Test Drivers and with the invaluable support of Michael Schumacher. The FXXs equipped with this package will also sport a new livery in addition to new rear wing profiles.

The FXX is not homologated for road use and there are no plans to compete with it either. In fact, the FXX prototype is designed exclusively for track driving as part of a specific R&D programme agreed with a selected group of just over 20 clients involving 14 group test sessions and 14 private ones in the last two years. Thanks to readings taken over the 16,500 kilometres of tests carried out in 2006 and the 18,500 kilometres covered in 2007, the modifications made to the car have focused on honing its aerodynamics, running gear and electronics. Seven-times Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher also joined the ranks of the client test drivers and gave the programme the benefit of his vast experience on several occasions.

Maranello's engineers studied the wealth of information gained to develop a kit which will cut the FXX's Fiorano lap time to under 1'16'' (previously it was 1'18''). The FXX's 6262 cc V12 engine can now punch out a massive 860 hp at 9500 rpm. Gearshifting takes just 60 ms, a drop of 20 ms on the previous time, and the gear ratios have been adapted to make use of the extra 1000 rpm now delivered by the engine.

The car's new traction control system, developed in close collaboration with the GES Racing Division engineers, gives the driver a choice of no less than nine different settings (plus the off position) which are selected using a switch on the central tunnel. This means that the driver really can modify the car's behaviour on the track from corner to corner, just as the Formula 1 drivers do to maximise performance and reduce tyre wear. The FXX's traction control is also now less invasive and more flexible, adapting more efficiently to the individual driving style of each driver - a requirement pinpointed when this very extreme car was being driven on the track by non-professional drivers.

The FXX's special 19'' Bridgestone tyres now last longer too thanks to a new car setup and new front suspension geometry, while the Brembo brakes, which boast large Composite Ceramic Material (CCM) discs, are more efficient with the result that the brake pads last twice as long. Thanks to the drivers' feedback the Ferrari engineers have also developed new aerodynamic solutions aimed at increasing downforce over the rear axle. The FXX now sports a new rear diffuser, nolder and rear flaps which have combined to increase aerodynamic efficiency by 25% overall. The active front spoiler control system settings have been adjusted to take these modifications into account too. New telemetry monitoring of the steering angle and brake pump pressure will further boost the interaction between Client test drivers and the company's engineers also. From next year onwards, it will be possible for drivers to have two extra video cameras mounted on their car in addition the existing rear-facing one. This will, of course, give the drivers excellent rear visibility without having to impinge in any way on the car's aerodynamics.

The FXX evolution package includes participation in a series of track events that Ferrari is organising at international circuits for 2008/2009. Six events are planned for each year (two in North America, two in Europe and two in Asia). In addition to these, the FXXs will also be participating, as per tradition, in the prestigious end-of-season Ferrari World Finals.

As happened in 2006/2007, the cars will be backed up at each event by a 15-member official team made up of engineers, electronics experts and mechanics capable of providing complete assistance to clients. Needless to say, the latter will still be able to organise their own private individual track sessions in their car as well. [/quote

You must extract the attached zip-file.
Than you have to save the ttf-file in System/Windows/Fonts: Click on FILE, install new font. Ready!

Than you can use it with WORD, etc

Robert's efforts by creating a website like this here is on a good way to get more and more "successfully.
A site like this needs user's who wants to communicate and tell people what they have seen, known etc.
And - fortunately - there are many of them here on f-chat.

"Yes indeed, hollands largest Ferrari-collector keep it seen for and sweep its attic with superfiats radically empty. Who offer on one Enzo, F40, F50, 288 GTO and still much does more? The brabançon Harrie of the Moesdijk is known on Petrolhead as very nice (because he is certain not goofy with lending cars) and passionate petrolheads. But he has no more ''drive''. ' Sjoerd, I quite, ' he tells livelily by the tel.. So many cars, it produces me too much overhead costs. I have enormously of enjoy, but now aim my attention there at art. With the turnover of my Ferrari's I will buy a beautiful painting. Cars also other must believe moreover. Thus its SLR are meanwhile already sold 722. However, remains nice still enough: to be Bugatti Veyron remains (but a Second white and third red does not come there), is Rolls Phantom Black Edition remains also, as well as the this year still expect Drophead coupé. Bentley also its Continental t remain he faithful. Also all Ferrari's do not go away: to be first, 328, can remain. Just like still to expect 430 the Scuderia and 612 Sessanta, the Scaglietti which are built in a uantity of 60 pieces for the honour of Ferrari's 60 year old existence. But in the lot which is to be bought, sit among others one Enzo, F40, F50, 288 GTO, 550 Barchetta, 575 Superamerica, Testarossa, 512M, 430 coupé and Spider, 360 Modena and Spider, 355 Spider, 612 scaglietti and 456M GT. And , also adored by me this way 360 the Stradale go. Snif! Of the Moesdijk: But I have no hurry. I want get simply a good price and some do not leave them. Haha, i am laughing my ass off! That translation is absolutely rubisch! By the way, you don't want to read it. It doesn't make any sense. It's like the biggest hotshot Ferrari-collector wants to sell atleast 75 percent of his collection just to buy paintings. I'm wondering if he is still ok. Is there a possibility that he is broke? This year in Scottsdale, Arizona, Barrett-Jackson was garnering as much attention as ever, selling off all manner of first-edition American muscle cars and Monster Garage monstrosities. But it was Gooding & Company that set the big records in its first year at Scottsdale, selling 64 cars for a total over $21 million. 90% went for more than their estimated values, and the average sale price was over $330k.

No fewer than seven cars sold for over $1 million each, including an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 which brought $1.54 million, as well as a Packard Individual Custom Eight Convertible, a 1963 Ferrari 400 Superamerica and a Duesenberg Model J "Clear-Vision" Sedan.

The big news, however, was the yellow 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spyder. As we pointed out in preview of RM Auctions' upcoming event in Maranello, Ferrari only built 100 examples of the iconic 250 GT California Spyder "€œ 50 long wheelbase and 50 short "€œ making this a highly sought-after collector's item, and this example went for a staggering $3.3 million, setting the highest price paid at this year's Scottsdale auction-fest.

I got some new about the new Dino, or the new 149 as it is also called.

I found this:

"Heh Guys

Just come back from the factory and I have some exciting News!!

THE F149

Revised launch is Paris 08.
First deliveries last quarter 08

Car is full metal roof convertible, which fully automatically folds into the body (similar to SL65)
circa 500BHP
Priced sub F430
Looks are similar to F599 but progressive from that model
Rear seats similar to SL65 configuration (will do for short journeys or kids)
Car to be aimed at a new market to compete in circa SL55 marketplace
This car from the images looks great.
Dealers have been shown near enough finished models.

-------------------------

You absolutely right. Just right after you posted this thread I have called my dealer in Germany and he confirmed to me everything you have posted. So this means that it will be exactly as you said. Here are the facts my dealer told me about "F149":

1) Hard top convertible with ultra light roof construction. My dealer told me that it is possible that it will be panorama retractable roof.

2) Engine will develop a little bit more than 500 HP.

3) Price will be aproximatly the same as for the current F430 Berlinetta.

4) My dealer told me that it will be possible to choose if you want small rear seats or luggage shelf similar to 599 GTB.

5) My dealer has seen first top secret images of this car and confirmed that it looks very well.

6) Launch at Paris, because now Ferrari is finishing the work on hard top retractable roof construction. That is why launch is delayed from Geneva to Paris.

7) My dealer told me as well that Ferrari is focusing now on developing hard top retractable roof constructions for futrure convertibles.

I see you quite well informed about F-news, as well as me. Are there any interesting facts you know about 599 Spider? May be you can share with us anything interesting about this car?

But in any case thank you very much for sharing your news with us. Best."

Anyone got some new pics of it, that we havn't seen? Please post them!! :)

The first Pilota Ferrari driving course is reserved exclusively for Ferrari customers. The course is held at the Fiorano track, which is owned by Ferrari.

The course covers the techniques of sports driving with sessions held on the track and specific lessons in car control techniques. The practical training is supplemented by theoretical workshops.

Students learn how to achieve full control of the vehicle in different situations, including controlled over-steer in the wet, emergency braking with and without ABS, controlling power over-steer through an S-bend and over-steer with and without ASR in the wet.
The instructors also refine students' track-driving technique where special attention is paid to the racing line.

10 vehicles are available in the car pool - including both F430s and 599 GTB Fioranos. At the end of the course students are offered the chance to drive their own Ferraris on the circuit. Each course lasts 2 days. Shortly will be available the 2008 dates.

€ 5.775,- euro....

The special part must surely be that you drive at the Fiorano circuit. That in itself is very special of course. Don't forget that racers like Lauda, Regazzoni, Villeneuve, Scheckter, Pironi, Tambay, Andretti, Arnoux, Alboreto, Berger, Mansell, Prost, Alesi, Irvine, Schumacher, Barrichello, Alonso en Raikkonen have driven at Fiorano. On top of that your car will be back at its roots.

The rest is not special and can be learned in many places.

Spy shots: New Ferrari 2+2 caught in Fiorano

Posted on Wednesday 6 February 2008

Although the camouflage makes the car pictured look like something of a cross between a hearse and a delivery van, it is in fact a Ferrari, quite possibly a new 2+2 in the granturismo form factor. Spied testing at the track in Fiorano and snapped by a photographer, the new car is breeding rumours quicker than it runs laps.

The new Ferrari is expected to see uninhibited daylight for the first time at the Paris show this October. Until then - or shortly before, what with embargos breaking like they do - we’ll have to make do with the details we can scrape together. So far, that means that we can tell you the new Ferrari is about 50cm (20in) shorter than a 612 Scaglietti that was testing at the same track. Connecting the new chassis with other trends and rumours at the house of the Prancing Horse, there’s a chance that the power for the new car could come from a 450hp direct-injection V8, says Quattroruote. The one thing we know for sure is that the engine is mounted up front. Oh, and it’s a Ferrari. Not a hearse.

Hi there,

I am looking for people who can help me with all the technical things and dimensions of some old and present F-types.

I will explain why.

We have to make some show replica models.
They are going to be full scale, half scale and quarter scale.
The models we have to make are:
340 Amreica
340 MM
250 S
F599
500 F2
156 Sharknose

All the models will be none working models, just for people to look at.
People will not be able to touch them and some of them won't even be seen from all sides.
Of course we still would like to make them as accurate as possible.
In order to do this we need to know lots of dimensions.
Of course we do have small models of the cars, but we need to know more.
If we measure from the small models and then blow it up to full scale there is a big chance in getting the wrong final dimensions.

Who can help me with more information or with links to more information.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Egon,

My suggestion would be to visit www.gt40s.com and search on that forum. There are some guys on this forum who have built full scale cars from nothing and they first started with scale models to get some dimensions. It is really amazing what they achieved.

One guy from South Africa made a perfect replica of a Lola CanAm racer, one guy even greated a Ford GT90, and you can't tell the difference. Really that good!

Was kindly invited to talk about the road test (http://www.asphalte.ch/Auto/430S/430SE-1.php) we published after we spent an afternoon behind the wheel of a *special* 430 Scuderia, followed by a nice track day which allowed us to compare our driving impressions with a F430, F430 Spider and 599 Fiorano. Driving these cars individually is interesting, but back to back, differences become really outstanding.
http://www.asphalte.ch/Auto/430S/150H5575.jpg (http://www.asphalte.ch/Auto/430S/430S-P1.php)

We also made back to back weight measurements on our corner scales, and that's perhaps the only area where the Scuderia proved a little disappointing, perhaps more so because Ferrari is making unrealistic claims.

So enjoy the reading, there's also a batch of higher res pictures here (http://www.asphalte.ch/Auto/430S/430S-P3.php).

My opinion has always been.... hands off..... no way can you ever copy the look & feel of the original Italian cars. Even though all body panels might be a perfect match with the original..there's always something missing....

News about the presentation of the new Ferrari, codename F149

A new Ferrari Grand Tourer is in the offing and, in an innovative move, will be revealed to the fans and enthusiasts in a non-traditional way. In the build-up to the new model's official unveiling at the Paris Auto Show next October, Ferrari will be revealing it bit by bit on the dedicated www.ferrarigtcountdown.com site which can also be accessed through the official Ferrari portal at www.ferrariworld.com

Visitors to the site will be guided through a sensory voyage of discovery which, over the coming weeks, will gradually reveal the new car in its entirety and feature some highly gratifying virtual road tests too.

The new site launches today and begins that voyage of discovery with the sense of sound. The roar of the new GT's engine will be the first bit of it to be revealed to enthusiasts, in fact, and will be followed over the next few days by the first photographs of this eagerly-awaited car whose name will also be revealed.

This is the first time that the Prancing Horse has used this virtual voyage of discovery approach which will allow it illustrate various aspects of the new GT model's design and the many, many technological innovations that it sports.

Updates and additions to the site will continue until the Paris Show. To ensure that visitors are kept constantly abreast of the new content being revealed, simply register with the site and then experience these sneak previews of this latest gorgeous Ferrari creation.

This new approach to unveiling the car will naturally also be flanked by more traditional encounters involving the release of photographs and, of course, the Paris Show. It is, in fact, just one part of a highly focused strategy that puts the web at centre stage as an instant, privileged communications channel through which Ferrari can keep in constant contact with its burgeoning numbers of fans and enthusiasts worldwide.

This will be the first time a supersportscar will be presented in this manner. Quite exciting! At the website you can hear some sounds! They are great quality! I am truly amazed by the gearshifts, so incredebly fast! Heard rumors about a DSG style gearbox? Or is it just a fast F1 system (like the 430 scuderia)

NEW FERRARI CALIFORNIA REVEALED: A HUGELY VERSATILE,
INNOVATION-PACKED GT
The Ferrari California joins the Prancing Horse’s 8-cylinder family which has always
been defined by power and performance. It also flanks the flagship 612 Scaglietti in the
prestige sporty Grand Tourer segment.
The new Ferrari California will satisfy even the most demanding of owners in term of its
superb vehicle dynamics and driving pleasure. The new model will be available
exclusively as a convertible with a folding hard top. Both chassis and bodywork are
aluminium, in line with the rest of the current range. The California will be powered by
a new V8 engine mounted for the first time in the marque’s history in the mid-front
position.
In line with Ferrari tradition, the new model also features several innovations. Apart
from its folding hard top, these include the original 2+ concept which guarantees
exceptional versatility of use in the rear of the car. The California’s 4,300 cc V8 engine
features direct fuel injection and a “flat” crankshaft. It generates 460 CV at 7,500 rpm
with a torque curve that enhances vehicle dynamics and provides maximum driving
pleasure which is typical for Ferrari.
As per the t traditional Ferrari transaxle layout, the engine, which allows the Ferrari
California to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds, will be coupled to a
7-speed dual clutch transmission that boosts the car’s performance while enhancing the
driving pleasure, improves ride comfort and reduces fuel consumption and emissions
(c.310 g/km CO2). The comfort is further enhanced by a new multilink rear suspension
system. The Ferrari California is also equipped with the exclusive F1-Trac traction
control system which made its debut on the 599 GTB Fiorano and has been further
honed to suit the typical driving conditions expected for this new GT. Brembo brakes
featuring carbon-ceramic material disks as standard guarantee superbly efficient
braking.
In addition to sporting the marque’s classic styling cues, the cabin has also been
beautifully trimmed using quality materials by Ferrari’s own skilled artisans. New
accessories and equipment, such as the seats, steering wheel, instrument panel and
infotainment system, together with optimised aerodynamics ensure that this is a highly
ergonomic and enjoyable car to drive regardless of whether the top is up or down.
The Ferrari California is aimed at owners who desire a car which embodies everything
the Prancing Horse represents in terms of sporty design and innovation, but also seek a
car with greater versatility than ever.

Turkish designer shows us what a Ferrari 599 should look like

Whether you like Ferrari's challenging design direction or not, you can always be sure that someone will offer an alternative image of how the Italian manufacturer’s cars could look.

Having previously brought us a vision of what a new Ferrari Dino may look like (the reality was a little different) Turkish designer Ugur Sahin's latest creation is based on a Ferrari 599 GTB.

Apparently, Sahin has continued the design language of the Dino concept with his USD GT-S Passionate (the USD standing for Ugur Sahin Design), which retains the 599's GT roots but has more swoops.

It manages to look both retro and modern at once, with perhaps a hint of Alfa 8C to its profile.

Rather ambitiously, Sahin is hoping that the car will make it to production if there is enough demand.

The question is: do his designs improve on the Ferrari originals? From the reception the new California received, some would argue that they do.

While most of the news coming out of Modena these days has revolved around Ferrari’s soon to debut California, our spy shooters happened to be in just the right place at just the right time to capture a car that may be altogether more fascinating.

This Ferrari test mule may be largely wearing the bodywork of a 360, but what lies beneath the surface very well could be the next generation F430. The first tip-off to the secrets within is the exhaust pipes that have been routed to a place just under the license plate, instead of their usual spots at the extreme rear corners of the car. The mule is also seen to be sporting camouflage on its revised rocker panels, a new front bumper, and a blacked out rear window which obscures our view of the engine.

That the engine is completely hidden makes this an extra interesting set of spy shots, as it means that the car could even be serving as a powertrain mule for something no less exotic than the successor to the Ferrari Enzo. Expect to read updated news on the mystery Ferrari as we have it, and check out the shooter’s firsthand account below:

Did you think that the GT California was the only car that was in the pipeline at Ferrari?

Well think again, as we have spotted a mule that probably will be for the next generation F430, but its also a small chance it’s a powertrain mule for the Enzo successor.

We were overtaken by a strange looking 360 while driving on the highway, and noticed that the exhaust pipes were missing in the normal place. After a closer look, we found them, in the middle right under the licence plate, and we managed to snap some shots before it took off at a speed that we couldn’t follow.

But before it took off, we noticed what looked like a slightly modified front bumper from an F430 and also cammoed rocker panels. The rear window, or should we call it engine window, was also taped up just to make sure no one would see what’s new in the engine bay.

We will try to keep you updated with more info as quick as we will have some.

Look closely, parts of the rear end are 360, but the side is defenately from a 430!

Reminds me of the enzo prototipo m3! And we all know which engine it was they tested (in a combination of a front end from a 348, intertior from a 360 and widened rear of a 355.)

Johannus
10-07-2008, 17:15
That was also the first thing i thought about, and why would the cover the engine window if there's nothing really special there...

Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider Unofficially Confirmed with first Low-Res Image
Shown in California World Premier Video

Just a couple of weeks a go, the first reports surfaced that Ferrari had begun development of a Spider variant of its super light F430 Scuderia. These rumours have now been confirmed after the Italian supercar maker discretely revealed a very low resolution image of the model in the video of the Ferrari California world premier event from last week.

The image comes somewhat as a surprise, usually when Ferrari are developing new models they generally do it under a huge cloud of secrecy, denying the model right up until it is officially released. A ploy that was very successfully delivered for the brand new California.

Production of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider will be limited to around 300 units. It will follow in the vein of its coupe sibling with a superlight structure, but an additional 70kg is likely to be added to the model's 1250kg kerb weight due to the retractable hard top roof.

The 510hp 4.3-liter V8 power unit will stay unchanged, therefore we would expect Ferrari to maintain its acceleration and top speed performance figures with the introduction of the new 7-speed dual clutch transmission system which will debut in the brand new Ferrari California.

Rumours have stated we could see the model unveiled as soon as November 5th when the Ferrari Challenge at Mugello commences. Rest assured, if this unveiling date is accurate you will get all the juicy details right here on WCF as soon as they are released.

We have a new company-member on the site who will help us notifying F-owners/ and enthusiasts about f-chat.eu. It is Ricambi Classiche from Rome - Italy. See the ad on the ads-page. And there website www.ricambiclassiche.com

That is after ''F360 Performance Parts'' already decided a month ago to help us: http://www.f360performanceparts.com/ . His banner and ad is also on the ads-page.

Of course there banners already roulate also together with the other banners in the left upper corner from this site.

Hello everybody.
Long time no writing…
Does anybody on this lovely forum know anything about this car or perhaps even knows the owner of the car?
Make me happy and tell me something about it.

Unfortunately the link I added looks a bit strange, I hope it works.
But if not, you can search for it on www.mobile.de and look for F-cars, 348.
It’s the one in Newton Abbot GB.

I would be very happy if anybody here could help me out.

Best regards from a snowy Sweden.

Thank you for replying to my question.
Yes I have some interest in that car and have already gotten some information about it.
Currently I’m gathering as much information as possible about the car and what might be interesting about it. We’ll see, if everything goes as planned I might buy it.
Best regards,
Egon.

Than I guess this is bad news on Enzo's birthday....

WASHINGTON — Ferrari is recalling 1,950 of its 2005-'07 F430 Spider cars. A defect involving the hydraulic hoses for the convertible top could cause smoke and fire in the engine compartment, rendering the vehicle inoperable, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The hoses are located inside the engine compartment. "The heat from the engine may cause hairline cracks to form in the hoses, which may result in fluid leakage from the convertible top hydraulic system," said NHTSA in its recall summary of the problem. "This leakage in turn, will cause the convertible top warning light to illuminate and if not remedied, could ultimately leak fluid into the engine compartment causing smoke and a fire, rendering the vehicle inoperable and possibly resulting in a crash."

The recall is expected to begin sometime in February. Ferrari dealers will install protective heat shields over the convertible top hydraulic lines to insulate them from the heat of the engine compartment. Owners can contact Ferrari .

... here's a rave review from 1990 from the LA Times, that I just happened to stumble across: http://articles.latimes.com/1990-07-20/news/vw-339_1_performance-art?pg=0

Clearly, I prefer my 328 to any 348 (;)), but this piece does make a hell of a case for the latter. Also, in general, it's cool to get a whiff of the late 80s/early 90s Ferrari craze, with prices soaring and wait lists blowing out of proportion for quite a few models of the era.

Anyway, you be the judge, but most of all... ENJOY!

PS please note that this article stretches out over some 5 pages, so do read beyond the annoying Google ads and press <<next page>> at the bottom of each page
